Dodsley, 1742, 2 large quarto volumes, translated from Spanish to English by Charles Jarvis, illustrated with 27 numbered full-paged engravings in the first volume, in addition to the portrait of Cervantes bound opposite the first page of the short biography section; second volume illustrated with 41 numbered full-paged plates; with the 8-page Supplement to the Translator's Preface, sometimes lacking, present in the first volume; the two bound in contemporary calf boards, neatly rebacked with renewed endleaves, 11 x 9 in.

2) The History and Adventures of the Renowned Don Quixote de la Mancha, London: A. Millar et al., 1775, two large quarto volumes; first edition, with Tobias Smollett's Spanish to English translation, and 28 full-paged copperplate engravings by Hayman; bound in full contemporary speckled English calfskin, neatly rebacked, 11 1/2 x 9 in.
